The many benefits of Soda Blasting - updated

male employee soda blasting in ppe dark background Here is an example of soda blasting being performed in a crawlspace.

Soda blasting is a great media to use for many different remediation/cleaning jobs. This method of cleaning can be used for microbial growth and soot contamination removal from structural building materials that are not being removed or replaced.  The backing soda that is used not only acts as a more abrasive method to remove mold or soot it also acts as a natural deodorizer and drying agent.  This can be very beneficial when trying to reduce moisture levels in crawlspaces.

The process of soda blasting is attaching a 185 cfm compressor to the soda blasting machine with the use of air hoses.  The pressure flows through the soda media through the blast hose and out the nozzle with a strong force to remove the microbial growth or soot from the surface you are applying it to.

Soda blasting is sometimes a more effective method to cleaning mold over hand cleaning. This is dependent on the size and amount of mold growth.
